In accordance with the Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 186 and the ethical guidelines set forth by the National Court Reporters Association's Code of Professional Ethics, RealLegal offers E-Transcript Signature technology integrated right into individual RealLegal E-Transcript files. The revolutionary technology is an entirely valid replacement of the traditional practice of physically signing a paper-based transcript certification page.

Overview
The digital signatures are embedded into RealLegal E-Transcript files and they can be printed along with the transcript to eliminate delivery delays. Whether a RealLegal E-Transcript file is received via e-mail, diskette, or Publisher Bundle, if an E-Transcript Signature has been provided, it will be intact and valid.

Court reporters simply establish their own E-Transcript Signatures account and supply it with the digital signatures they purchase from RealLegal. The unique signatures can be purchased for just $0.50 - $2.50 each, depending on the quantity purchased. As the supply of E-Transcript Signatures is depleted from the account, court reporters simply replenish their inventory through their account interface. Each E-Transcript Signature is authentic and stored in the secure account.

RealLegal E-Transcript Signatures ensure transcript fidelity by detecting if the E-Transcript has been tampered with either after it has been signed or in transit. It provides evidence that the transcript was signed at a specific date and time, that it was signed by a specific person, and that is was intended for a specific recipient.

Whenever a signed RealLegal E-Transcript is opened, a nontransferable E-Transcript Signature is displayed, tying the designated recipient to that signed transcript. Moreover, when printed, the name of the designated attorney appears as a footer on every page. This serves to protect the work product of court reporters by discouraging unauthorized distribution.

RealLegal E-Transcript Signatures:
  • Follow statutory guidelines for admissibility
  • Are presented in the full-featured E-Transcript Viewer
  • Make it essentially impossible for a transcript to be altered
  • Are always valid
  • Accelerate certified transcript delivery
  • Work seamlessly with a court reporters’ current signature page practice
